We learn about leadership from Moses and courage from Joshua. We study the wisdom of Solomon and the emotion of Jeremiah. These are common major characters we revere, but there are voices missing on our lists. We have to train our eyes to see them, but if we are curious enough we can learn from the minor characters as well. The biblical writers did not preserve the names of the four characters we will look at this January, but we can still learn from their example about how God uses all people for his purpose—despite age, gender, and social class. Cyndi Parker is an expert educator and writer specializing in the context of the Bible, trips to Israel, and Theology of Place. This class takes place on 4 Thursdays from 7 to 8 pm, beginning January 14.
