On Ash Wednesday (Feb. 14), the Resurrection community will gather at 7 pm in Center City to mark the beginning of Lent by receiving ashes on our foreheads and hearing this somber reminder spoken over us: remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.

During Lent, Christians around the world seek to participate more deeply in the life of Christ through practices of fasting, prayer, self-examination, and generous giving. Lent is a time for denying our appetites and decluttering our lives, so that we may learn to “hunger and thirst for righteousness” (Matthew 5:6) and “be filled with all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:19).
